Gluttony2 & Malice2, Rage

Difficulty:

Description

Double Gluttony and Malice give Cerus lots of opportunities for gaining Empowered. Make sure to collect properly and not fail portals.

Sequence

  1. During Envy, the Chronomancer prepares their Portal on the squad, then once the wall disappears, they Blink out to the eastern edge and open the portal.
  2. Whoever gets targeted by Malice takes the portal and drops the add on the edge. The rest of the squad focuses on collecting the two consecutive Gluttony mechanics. Alternate Feedback and Corrosive Poison Cloud on the boss to prevent it from gaining Barrier.
  3. After the last orb is collected, the Scourge uses their Sand Swell eastwards, on top of the Malice add.
  4. Whoever gets targeted by the second Malice takes the portal immediately, the rest of the squad takes it as soon as Rage appears.
  5. Stack behind the adds and cleave them down while targeting the boss.

Extra Information

  • Remember that there is an invisible add (Regret) on Triangle! The Portal should be placed slightly south of the horizontal line, or the add will block some projectiles, making it more difficult to cleave the Malices.
  • Sand Swell should generally be opened early to let the player targeted by Malice more easily find the entrance, and it will likely despawn before the Rage wind-up animation is finished. Some Scourge players will call out the remaining time in voice chat, but generally its best to take the portal the moment Rage appears.
  • The player targeted by the second Malice should try to drop their add on top of the previous one, to make cleaving them together easier.

Advanced Version

It is possible for a Chronomancer to cover both portals for this sequence, by using Continuum Split on the first one. Since Portal lasts longer than Sand Swell, the squad can greed DPS in melee range until Rage is almost complete. Furthermore, the player targeted by Malice has an easier time of finding the portal, since it can be opened directly on the boss and is generally more visible. Most experienced groups will use this strategy.

View Animation

Confident Chronomancers can delay opening their portal as much as possible: this allows melee players to take it back after the Rage and increase their damage uptime.
